The series redefines the “how-to”cooking show format by presenting viewers with an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at the inner-workings of Charlie Trotter’s renowned Chicago restaurant.  The Kitchen Sessions  offers the best of two worlds: the thrill of restaurant dining at its finest, and, expert culinary instruction and advice.  The Kitchen Sessions blends reality and excitement, and stresses Chef Trotter’s devotion to fresh ingredients prepared in innovative combinations and served in impeccable style.  Filmed in rich 16mm black and white and color photography,  The Kitchen Sessions is the only cooking show to simultaneously receive  James Beard awards for both the television series and companion cookbook.   The Kitchen Sessions debuted in January of 1999 on public television and is currently in its third season.  Underwriting of the series is made possible by Gallo of Sonoma and Jenn-Air.
